This lecture will centre on the role of the internet in the downfall of democracies. Journalist and tech blogger Jamie Bartlett will give his vision on the role of ditigization in democratic processes.
Will technology destroy democracy or will the political authorities spread their powers over the digital world? Does the internet increase the gap between people or can it create unity and mutual understanding?
Jamie Bartlett is director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media of the British thinktank Demos and specialised in political movements online.
